Greetings & salutations, Brookfield Chamber Members. Can you believe it is already October? If you close your eyes tight enough & inhale deeply, you can almost smell the pumpkin spice in the air. However, that could just be my Glade Plug-in, because who doesn’t love the smell of pumpkin pastries? Anyway, now that the whirlwind of summer activities is behind us, we must look forward to the great food, friends & festivities that always come with the Fall months. Before I get to what lies ahead, I want to take a moment to thank 2 wonderful Chamber members who have gone above & beyond to organize 2 great events last month. Hopefully you were able to see it for yourselves, but the Brookfield Fine Arts Festival was a tremendous success. With a great team of volunteers, an ever-expanding network of artists & a little luck on the weather, Abby Snow of Brennan Spa was able to make this year’s festival a huge hit, & pack Kiwanis Park all afternoon. Also, one of our newest Board members, Mary Vasquez of Mary’s Morning Mix-up, took the initiative to set up our first Membership Drive.

Through her efforts, we were able to add 12 new members to our ranks, and get the word out about what we do. It was wonderful seeing so many entrepreneurs come together to share ideas and network. Again, thank you to both volunteers that made these events possible. Mark your calendars for Taco Bout It’s official Ribbon Cutting on Friday,

October 19th at 4 PM. The owner Enrique and his righthand man Bruno have brought a contemporary Mayan twist to traditional Mexican Fare that is worth checking out. Personally, I am a huge fan of the mole chicken burrito, & have eaten there at least 4 times in the past month. Taco Bout it is located at 8819 Ogden Ave in Brookfield. I hope you can make this a special day for them and support a new business.
