For 105 years, family owned and operated Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., has been serving the residents of Chicago and the Western suburbs with care, compassion and consideration. Located in Brookfield since Sunday, March 24, 1963. The Hitzeman name is known throughout the Brookfield community not only for its reputation of dignified service to people in grieving times, but also for its community service and dedication to others. Both Norbert F. Hitzeman (3rd Generation) and Todd N. Hitzeman (4th Generation) have been past Presidents' of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. Charles T. Hitzeman (5th Generation) has served as Vice President of the Chamber. For over the last four decades, the Hitzeman Family has assisted Brookfield and its surrounding communities in any way possible from civic and religious organizations to village events.
Hitzeman Funeral Home and its staff provide 24 hour 365 days a year service to the families they serve. The funeral service business has evolved over the years as a result of an instinctive wish to honor our deceased and comfort the bereaved. The ceremony of the funeral symbolizes the beliefs of a culture, its hopes, its ideals, and its spiritual concepts. The Hitzeman family can help with all aspects of funerals. The staff is knowledgeable and able to help with all services from traditional visitations, traditional funerals, memorial services and gatherings and cremation. Assistance is provided with Military Honors and benefits, death notice or obituary writing, cemetery selection and coordination, notification of Social Security, church and clergy coordination, luncheon reservations, transportation to or from the Chicago Land Area if a deceased needs to be transported and suggestions for memorialization. In the summer of 2007, the Hitzeman Family started a remodeling project to better serve Brookfield and its surrounding communities. Hoping to finish in 2009, the General Contractor has fully worked with the Hitzeman's to insure their day to day operations and services provided to families have not been interrupted. We hope to be able to schedule an open house when construction is complete, to offer the entire community the chance to see what has been done to better provide the families served.
